DATA BREACH MANAGEMENT

A personal data breach can have a range of adverse effects on individuals. There can be serious repercussions for organisations, their employees and customers.  We offer two main services under data breach management:

Prevention  - You need to be able to detect, investigate, risk-assess and record any breaches. You must report them as appropriate. Having effective processes in place helps you to do this. , such as financial penalties, reputational damage, loss of business and disciplinary action. 

Resolution - unfortunately even with the best intentions it is still possible a data breach can occur.  GDPR solutions provides an urgent service to assess the ramifications of any personal data breach to determine both an immediate containment plan and provide a view on whether it is reportable to a supervisory authority and/or data subjects.  We will also help you devise a corrective action plan after the immediate containment and work with your respective colleagues to resolve any underlying issues.

In addition we can:

• Liaise directly with a supervisory authority  (such as the ICO), including responding to follow-up questions
• Liaise directly with data subjects if appropriate
• Assist with reviewing your internal breach processes and provide training to address root causes
